A day in the life of Kelli Sharp
A new addition to David Jones Macarthur Square, Nine West is making strides for shoe-lovers by providing a high-end option in the local footwear sphere. We spoke to Kelli Sharp, Brand Manager at Nine West, about what it’s really like to work behind the scenes of one of Australia’s most popular footwear labels, and we get the inside scoop on highly-anticipated collections to come.
A day in the life of Kelli Sharp is far from your average office job. After analysing sales results and touching base with the New York design office, it’s time for a trend forecast. When she’s not nose-deep in paperwork, she’s jetsetting around the globe in search of new styles. “Days are dynamic and no two are ever the same,” she says.
When it comes to buying trips, Kelli looks at what people are wearing in the streets as well as how high-end designers are influencing fashion. “We look at how they are translating trends into their daily lives,” says Kelli. “We always want to find the next trend to excite everyone, but we also want to build on styles our customers love and are comfortable wearing.”
As Autumn approaches, it’s all about femininity. “The colour palette of this season brings in tones of blush, caramel and wheat,” says Kelli. “A touch of velvet is also a big material trend.”
Boots are unquestionably the style staple of the season. “As we know A/W is all about boots in every silhouette,” she says. “From ankle boots to over-the-knee, key boot styles are a must for winter styling.”
When asked to describe her brand’s aesthetic, Kelli gets right to the point: “Nine West offers feminine, sophisticated fashion for the modern woman who is on the go,” she says. “With our demanding schedules and diverse lifestyles, we aim to provide a varied assortment in great quality that is attainable.”
Kelli is also a big believer in transitional footwear. “Elegant and chic, the aim is to take you from work to play,” she says. Adhering to this aesthetic, Kelli’s all-time favourite style is a classic stiletto pump that takes her from boardroom to off-duty with ease.
The new collection has a truly elevated aesthetic with a romantic edge. Nine West designs are now available at David Jones right here in-centre. “Macarthur Square has emerged as such a strong fashion precinct and we are proud to say that we are a part of that,” says Kelli.
If you’re in the market for a new pair of pumps, be sure to make Nine West your first stop. Pair your new kicks with a knit from Witchery, skirt from Cue and accessories from Swarovski, all of which you can find right here at Macarthur Square shopping centre.
